  • Portable Ultrasound dry hire.
  • Discounted rates for graduate students using portable XRF to generate new materials/biological analysis and analyser software.

XRF

Cost effective and expedited assessment of elemental composition of target samples and one instrument for any type of sample without the requirement of dedicated calibrations.

Handheld XRF delivers outstanding accuracy for most types of metallic materials, especially those containing high levels of alloying transition metals or refractory metals. Such alloys are stainless steel, titanium, nickel, cobalt based alloys as well as special alloys made of zirconium, tungsten or tantalum.

    • For aluminum and magnesium alloys, despite low sensitivity for magnesium, handheld (SDD) XRF still delivers very accurate results.
    • By normalizing results to 100%, handheld XRF results are insensitive to sample size, shape and roughness facilitating accurate measurement of small samples down to millimeters in size.
    • XRF analysis is completely non-destructive, leaving the surface of the sample untouched and it is therefore perfectly suitable for materials analysis and quality control of finished goods.

    Ultrasound

Unlike other non-destructive methods, ultrasonic testing produces results that indicate material characteristics that are deeper than the surface level. Other advantages of Ultrasonic testing include:

    • Thickness measurement.
    • Void analysis.
    • Higher penetration power for deeper flaw detection.
    • Heightened sensitivity to pick up micro flaws.
    • It can test an object where only one side is accessible.
    • Greater accuracy when testing internal flaws and object thickness compared to other NDT methods.
    • No-hazardous to nearby personnel.
    • Portable small form factor.
    • Able to estimate the size, shape and nature of defects in a test object.
